Butterfly Eggs

At Lochore Meadows (Fife) this afternoon. I expected to see small heath butterflies but none about. Instead I saw one small copper, two peacocks and many orange tips and many green-veined whites.

The orange tips and green-veined whites were visiting all the cuckooflowers/lady's smock (Cardamine pratensis) and not just for the nectar. Almost every flower head had an egg laid on one of the flower stalks. I know the orange eggs belong to the orange-tips so assume the white ones were GVW eggs.

The extra is a green-veined white nectaring on Cardamine pratensis.
