A lonely life
Up on the moors. This wee, stone building is used for holding the sheep when they are bought down for dosing, tagging etc. The structure, like all walls and barns in Yorkshire is made on the 'dry stone' method whereby stones are placed on top of each other, a bit like a jigsaw puzzle, with no mortar holding them together.
I am not sure about sheep shearing, the wool seems to be just falling off them, they are looking extremely tatty. They also have their tails which is something l am not used to seeing. The sheep are a hardy lot, they wander all over the moors using walls to shelter from both the bad weather and the good.
The extra is a close up of the building and you can see how the stone work is done.
