Tree down!

On one of our recent walks we discovered that the river bank had eroded to the point that it brought down this large tree. Inch by inch, over time, the erosion has gobbled up the hillside. An interesting display of the force of nature.

This morning the icy water around the tree made a great swimming pool for this group of happy mallards.
