Beach Day!
Today was a relax day for me! I came on this holiday tired and just getting over a virus, and yesterday was busy, so I very much enjoyed my chillaxing day today!
I love being right by the sea! The view from the clifftop campsite is amazing. Unfortunately it’s also very windy so I’ve not been able to sit outside very much as it’s too cold! I managed to eat half of my breakfast outside and then finished it off inside the warmth of the van!
This afternoon though I took a flask of tea and a new compact folding chair that I bought yesterday and had a walk all along the beach below the campsite. It was warmer down there! The tide was out, exposing lots of interesting rocks. Only occasionally did I see anyone else. I found a nice sheltered spot for my afternoon tea and enjoyed an hour or so! When I was done there was a steep staircase back up to the top, and I walked back ‘home’ along the clifftop coastal path.
Extra Photo: ‘Abandoned’
I walked past a curious campsite/holiday camp on my way back ‘home’. You can just about see it in the distance from MY campsite. Most of it is an abandoned holiday park and swimming pool, originally built in the 1930s, and some of the remaining cottages are dangerously close to the cliff edge. But apparently some of the cottages are still lived in - part time or full time I’m not sure. They hardly look adequate at all. There were also 4 campervans/caravans camping there. It’s not the kind of place I’d like to stay, but it sure is colourful and it has spectacular views!
