This map is part of an agreement dating back to 1875. It is between the proprietor of the Lews, Sir James Matheson, and parties interested in the hunting, fishing and shooting of the Grimersta and Scaliscro estates in Lewis. Tucked away at the top of the map are the nearest habitations, the villages of Callanish and Breasclete.
