George Mason and friend

On a walkabout in DC, with son's Canadian friend whose first visit this is. We put a few miles under our belts (or is it shoes?) today but managed to hit most of the highlights. I feel the miles walked entitled me to a nice dose of Swiss chocolates -- without the usual remorse :)

I liked this shot, which is of the memorial to George Mason, who is often thought of as the "forgotten founder" and wrote the Virginia Declaration of Rights. His friend on the right seemed in deep contemplation.

I'm almost ready for the Christmas extravaganza; just a quick grocery run in the morning and we'll be all set :)

Best wishes to those ahead of us in the time zones for a wonderfully cosy Christmas eve!
