Dorset Day 2
My 2nd full day in Dorset, I stated off visiting RSPB Arne, it was so tranquil and I saw and heard lots of birds and even saw some deer. I had a yummy cheese scone in the cafe, and then drove to Corfe Castle. Apparently this was an inspiration for Enid Blyton's Famous Five books, which I loved as a girl, and I can see why, it was really impressive although the angles of some of the walls was a bit scary.
Originally I was going to go on a bird watching cruise tonight to Dancing Ledge where sometimes puffins can be seen, but the weather was due to take a turn for the worse, so instead I walked to the cliffs above Dancing Ledge, it was a nice walk although I had to go down a steep hill, which means a hard walk back up. I didn't see any puffins, but saw some guillemots. I managed the hill back to the car ;) with a couple of pauses. I had just got to the top when it started to rain, so it was wet mile long walk back to the car. I was dressed for it though so I didn't mind.
I felt it was a bit early to head back to the hotel so I went to have a look at Studland Bay. It was a nice sandy beach but not really much to see, a bit bleak and bland for my liking.
I head home tomorrow, my ferry isn't until 4pm so I will still have time to do more tomorrow.
The extra is for Elirin and Alice.
