Keswick Mountain Festival

That time of the year again folks....

Waking this morning I was really quite stoked, a fun event, an easy but rewarding day and a chance to catch up with old friends & make new ones, yeay.
A lazy start but still onto the motorway at 08.50, just a quick hop (11 miles), from J39 to J40and then along the A66....
5hrs 40minutes later I got off the M6, utterly utterly frazzled, caught in the chaos of an accident that occurred first thing. My first presenting slot had slipped by, as did my second, but with thousands of folk in the same predicament the Team were able to work round it and rearrange.
I arrived with just enough time for a coffee and hugs - then onto stage for a double session of Emergency Procedures.
Perhaps it was the chaos but the festival, which has new organisers this year, doesn't seem as big, busy or supported - we are pretty much the only interactive event, so at least we have a full house. I was a bit shocked to hear the 10km run is £34!! Hopefully Saturday and Sunday will perk up.
