Iftar

Not a great photo but this is what it looks like outside a popular, cheap restaurant in town just before the breaking of the Ramadan fast. Nowhere left to sit, everyone hanging around waiting for the call to prayer, sweet juice and even sweeter pastries being shared out ready to eat when 7.13pm finally arrives! Maybe you can spot J in there talking to some guys from the Mosul basketball team about to play our city's team!

Today I went out to a yezidi village to help at a gathering for new people in the family. It was sad hearing stories of how many of their relatives had been either killed or taken by da'esh in 2014. Thankfully some had got out and are now safe in Germany. It was such a privilege to be part of teaching them in their own language. Looking forward to more next week....
