The Ancestral Pile...
...but sadly not ours.
We're off to Cheshire for a bit of a holiday and as we usually do we broke the journey by staying overnight at a Travel Lodge or as today the Premier Inn at Telford. This allows us to visit a great house that we would not otherwise see. The National Trust property Attingham Hall and the surrounding park was well worth the visit. The first extra is the magnificent dining room, all laid up for dinner.
Since we were so close we were also able to visit a great favourite, Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge where the Industrial Revaloution started. The very first iron bridge cast and build by Abraham Derby (iii) was put up in 1779 and it's still there now, we walked across it today.
Two extra views of the bridge...
