The Old Forge (Friday 17th May 2019)
I decided to try something a little different today and came up with this slightly dreamy soft-focus interpretation of some garden aquilegia, suitable for Flower Friday, I hope. With thanks to Bikerbear for hosting the challenge.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Supremes - Going Down For The Third Time (Extended Mix) (recorded 16-21 June 1966, Hitsville, Detroit MI)
A couple of days ago I acquired an expanded 2CD edition of The Supremes Sing Holland Dozier Holland, an album I already had without the extras. All the songs were written by Brian and Eddie Holland and Lamont Dozier, who were responsible of most of their earlier hits. Going Down For The Third Time had a harder, bluesier edge than many of their recordings and actually appeared on a single a year or so later, but only as a B-side. It was actually their most popular B-side and one of the new extra tracks on this 2CD is this extended mix on the second disc, which I heard for the first time this afternoon.
It was one of the last recordings with the classic line-up of Diana Ross, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson. With the departure of Florence they became 'Diana Ross and the Supremes' with Cindy Birdsong taking her place.
