Lowther Castle
Woolly and l went to Lowther Castle, or should l say the ruins of Lowther Castle, sadly it was burnt to the ground through the meaness of the castle keeper who decided not to bother with the expense of having the chimney swept. The castle was not an old one, it was built at the turn of the 19th century upon the site of two other great houses, but was huge and famous for the story that there was a room built for each day of the year. The facade has been sured up and and sits in a wonderful setting amidst great gardens.
