Clonmacnoise Monastic Site

Dear Diary,

The rest of my party went off to Galway for the day and I headed east to the midlands to visit Clonmacnoise Monastic site. The day started a bit dreary but as you can see it transformed itself into a beautiful blue sky. The site consists of one cathedral, seven churches and two towers as well as three high crosses. The setting, on the Shannon RIver was stunning.

Then, it was a 2.5 hour stressful ride to Navan where I believe my GPS was having a bad day. I seemed to be going in circles. I gave up and followed the signs and finally made it. I have no idea how the rest of the party will fare but I am retreating to the lovely old bar to wait for them.
