Assembly
An early start today. I'm not used to my alarm going off at 6.30am on a Saturday morning, but needs must. Today was the first day of the Church of Scotland General Assembly and I am a commissioner this year. So it was the 7.58am train from Larbert to Edinburgh, a journey that I'll be repeating every day next week.
There was an early bonus however: on the train I met a minister friend with whom I had trained for the Readership over 20 years ago. Although we continue to exchange Christmas cards, we've only actually seen one another about twice in all that time. So there was a fair amount of catching up done as the day progressed. It certainly made the day pass quicker than expected.
Expect a few blips from Edinburgh, then, over the next week or so.
