I'm not brave around cows especially with calves in the field.  Farmer Derek here has escorted me through his farm before. The footpath forks in his farmyard , which ever way you want to go you have to negotiate his cows. Today he came to my rescue as I peered up the hill into his yard, and took me across some  fields in his truck to get me to the footpath another way. He assured me the cows would only have licked me but yes they are young and would have bounded up. I think I was safer in his truck. I would have been terrified.
