Ingleborough

We were near Arncliffe in the Yorkshire Dales for the British Long Distance orienteering Championships today. The weather was a bit Baltic but dry so perfect for running. Normally you have to have full leg cover when orienteering, but as we were out on open moorland we were allowed to wear shorts, so I duly did. It was slightly odd to have shorts with a thermal vest and orienteering top and gloves but it worked well. The moorland was covered in patches of flowers; Wild Pansies and Orchids being the most common. IT was dry underfoot and I enjoyed it albeit I was miles behind the winner. We then decided to drive a bit north and go up the Marilyn of Fountains Fell. By now it was a bit more cloudy and it was more than a bit Baltic. It’s an interesting hill that has seen a lot of mining in the past. The blip was taken on the way down looking towards Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent.
