Miss Port Appin 2012

Every Christmas Eve the young men of Port Appin take part in the fell race to the Bauble Point on top of Ben Fro Lich. The winner gets to take Miss Port Appin 2012 out to dinner - usually her last public service of 2012 - though this is not certain.

The annual Miss Port Appin event is held every two years due to a shortage of a certain type of contestant, you know, err... how can I put it? Unspoilt? Yes that's a way of saying it. Whatever, you don't find many of them around here. This demure young lady - seen on top of the Bauble trig Point is urging on her suitors with customary vigour expected of such an exalted position.

Port Appin's Cooncillor's stand guard at the top incase things become a little heated. Any suggestion that they are simply getting an eyeful is unkind and unworthy. Two of the runners up in the 2011 event stand in the crowd of well wishers should a stand-in be required or a Cooncillor needs assistance.

This is a good time to point out that this Port Appin is a totally ficticious place with no intended connections to anywhere or anyone else, of a similar name.
