Out and About
Our day started relatively early with another Blipmeet. This time in Alnwick at a wonderful secondhand bookshop called Barters. It is housed in an old railway station with the original buildings - the normal range of books with lots of extras; first editions, signed copies, sets of encyclopaedias and every other sort of book imaginable. There were sofas and comfy chairs where you could sit and read plus a cafe which brought food and drink to you. Added to this there is an old railway set which continually runs round the shop at high level. I spent my time capturing the people engrossed in their books, including our friend Rob (extra). The blipmeet was fun meeting up again with DavidC and his Editor who are now relaxing in Lake Garda!
Next a walk along the River Aln to take in the views of the castle before heading to the coast at Embleton where the dunes were impressive and gave views towards Dunstanburgh. Not the best light but you can't have everything! A walk along the beach was hard work but lead to a few interesting shots (blip).
'Home' to a superb meal prepare by Rose and suggested by our 'absent friend' and a relaxed evening.
