Dead wood

In a desert environment, wood takes a long time to decay.  Some rain forecast here in Natural Bridges National Monument, but no doubt it will dry again very rapidly.

I'm finding that I'm still listening to RNZ's all night program, but in the morning here, as I wait until it is time to leave to visit the Bears Ears Visitor Centre in Bluff, that doesn't open until 9 am.  In a motel tonight, as the weather hasn't been great.  A couple of days ago we have a heavy frost, and today the forecast is for wind, rain and snow.  Doesn't look too bad at the moment, though, so I'll be hitting the road soon.  It is always better here in the morning, though.  Don't expect to post much over the next few days as there isn't a great deal of cell reception around here, and I don't often have wifi.
