Old roses

This is one of the few survivors of the roses that lined the terrace of this property.  Most of them ended up in my neighbour's garden and have since been grubbed out.  They were most likely planted by the Englishwoman who lived here from the end of the First World War until her death in 1980.

Vide grenier in Lavaur this morning.  It was a bit cold for lingering, so we just did a quick swoop.  Only purchase was a scimitar for CarbBoy.

Later, more blind work for me, then undercoating for the exciting (ie, not white) painting that will happen next week.

Dinner, discussion of where things in Europe are, why the Isle of Man is not really in the EU and what that wee bit of Russia is doing on the Baltic Sea.
