I read somewhere that we Brits are drinking less alcohol. Not sure that I can verify that, but come to think of it, my glass of wine at lunchtime or in the evening, is now largely a thing of the past. Hand on heart I can say that my palate for wine has changed significantly in the past few years.
That does not rule out the occasional G&T nor a glass of fizz without necessarily having something special to celebrate.
Nevertheless this evening’s tipple was most welcome!
