Exploring

Up rather later this morning after a pretty good sleep. After breakfast we headed for the national museum and after a bit of a boring start we enjoyed the galleries about the history of Singapore and learned a lot. We then decided to walk back to the hotel - rather a challenge in the heat and humidity but nice to see the place and get some exercise. When we got back to the hotel I needed a shower and changed to meet BH. She was lovely and we had a good chat about everything from markets to philanthropy to children and national service. Afterwards caught up on work and got ready for the reception which was good - several very interesting people and good chat. T came down to join the last part and got caught up in some odd discussions about Asian clubs and wealth creation but managed well! 
We bailed out as it was getting late and were heading out to find dinner when we bumped into one of the reception guests who bundled us into his car and took us for dinner and chatted animatedly about cars, children, Miss Universe competitions, banking, Singapore life, golf and Edinburgh. We barely got a word in edgeways but he was very friendly and generous and we ate well (I had steamed crab - extra - delicious!)
Home after midnight and then I was wide awake.....
