Managed to get P to drop into Town for a couple of hours. We went to the Portrait Gallery to take in the new exhibition of American photographs. Like Francesca Woodman and Diane Arbus, find Mapplethorpe less appealing. Together they make an odd combination and I was a little disappointed. Part of the problem is that the photo gallery is to small to accommodate the sort of exhibition I would have liked to see.

On the way downstairs I spotted this bust if my first MP Tam Dalyell. An independent minded politician but a real gent. Wrote my mum a lovely note when my dad passed away.
