Legacy
Perhaps an odd blip for a Christmas Eve but appropriate to this evening's de-cluttering and apposite to our thoughts about what we have really given our children (other than a moderate pile of brightly-wrapped parcels).
De-cluttering to make space for tomorrow has included draining some of the dross of my parent's papers - things like decades-old bills and receipts. This process brought to the fore the small collection of old photographs in the files.
We're unsure who the large portrait is of, but believe it to be my grandfather, which will date it to WW1.
So, in my mind at the moment are the lives of four generations of the family. A bit strange. It does cause me to reflect that, however much I am concerned about futures, it's no comparison to the wastage of the past.

Strange how this follows from yesterday's blip - not a deliberate match; yesterdays could easily have been an Estate Agent's.
