Crickhowell Bridge.
The first bridge was built of timber in 1578.
Completely rebuilt of stone in 1706, and since repaired after flooding in 1808.
It is claimed to be the longest stone bridge in Wales. 128 meters.
Grade 1 listed.
Certainly magnificent.
After a lovely walk into town, from where we are staying, we sat by the river enjoying sandwiches and shandy purchased from the Bridge Inn.
Crickhowell is a lovely town.
Crowned the UK’s best High Street 2018.
Every shop, bar one, is family run and independent.
A glorious sunny day. Very hot for walking.
So after walking 5+ miles there we got a taxi back. £10 well spent!
( Kay, Gary and Scrumpy the dog, walked back)
Now to have a shower before starting to prepare a meal for us all tonight.
Certainly enjoyed last nights BBQ. We sat out until 10pm.
Really enjoying our visit to Wales. The countryside round here is beautiful.
The weather is a bonus.
A few extra photos of our walk.
