Roosevelt Elk
Roosevelt elk is the largest of the four surviving subspecies of elk in North America. They live in the rain forests of the Pacific Northwest. (Wikipedia)
In our neighborhood we have a herd of elk. Occasionally we see them in a corn field near our house. I drove down a dead end side road going on the assumption that the elk would trek through the forest there. While driving, I saw a small group crossing the road.
In the spirit of Christmas these creature will symbolize reindeer.
