KK Steel Mill

I won tickets from Planet Rock to see 5 bands in a Grade II listed building that was once the home of Star Motor Company, one of the first mass production car companies in the U.K. It is now known as KK’s Steelmill, being owned and renovated by a founding member of Judas Priest, KK Downing.

I went with a couple of friends as Sav didn’t fancy it and we missed the first group. We were there for the last two groups, but Rebecca Downes ( green frame ) and Myke Gray with Kim Jennett ( orange frame ) were good, but the boys on the blue frames were my favourites - The Kris Barras Band ( Yes them again! ). They were followed by the new line up of King King, who have a new bass player and drummer. They’ve only had a few gigs together and I’m sure it won’t be long before they’re as tight as the previous members were together. Roll on the Xmas gig! Couldn’t get to speak to the guys as they were swamped after the gig, as you can see by the way I had to snap this shot over people’s heads. They’re so swamped that they’re all looking at different cameras!
