Abstract Thursday:"Layers"

I had a rough idea of what I wanted to try for this week's theme. Unfortunately, it ended up involving me standing at Strathlene facing into cold, driving wind and rain.

I took shots of several waves breaking over these rocks. Then back at home (warm and dry!) I picked three of them,  stacked them as layers in Photoshop, selected the "whitest" parts of each, and coloured them in different hues. Then I experimented with various blending modes until I found one that gave a result I liked.

The way it's turned out isn't far off what I'd originally planned, though I wish it didn't have the strip of "white" water along the top. I blame the weather for not letting me concentrate on the composition!
