growing chicks
I had time to pop down and see the peregrines this morning. The chicks are developing fast, the white downy feathers are going and revealing the peregrine beneath. The parents sit and lie on the nest when the young become active, they appear to be watching that they don't go too near the edge yet when they start flapping wings.
In the blue tit box we have watched the 0 chicks dwindle to 3 but they appear to be 3 strong chicks and they are also now clearly showing their markings. A week or two and we should have empty nests. It is always an exciting time of the year.
