Hay Festival – Impressive Talk

Joan Smith, journalist, and Nazir Afzal, barrister, were on the stage at Hay talking about a little-discussed aspect of mass murderers – hatred of women and girls.  It was a miserable subject, but these two managed to make me feel really positive about the fact that people like them are working to bring the bad people to justice.  More to the point, they're trying to spot the problems before they need justice.

But of course funding constraints since 2010 have made it increasingly difficult to carry out this work.  It was a great talk by two brave and clever people.
