Low tide at Newhaven Harbour

Our brief trip to Edinburgh came to an end with a last visit to Newhaven Harbour to buy some fish for our dinner and spend some more time with our granddaughters, on the first day of midterm holiday. The tide was as low as I’ve seen it - half of the harbour area was mud.

It’ll be a while before we can do such a visit again, what with school holidays, family moves and unknown quantities. I’m not ready to move to a city, but I was sad to leave on this lovely morning.

The good news was that it was equally lovely in Dunoon...
