The Battle Begins

This Worcester berry plant flowered early and has lots of fruit on it already.  Have been waiting for the sawfly to turn up and they did yesterday, in their hundreds.  Have tried picking off all the leaves with eggs or caterpillars on them (and putting them on our bird 'table'), but I know I can't beat them and before long most of the leaves will be gone.  Looks like a good crop though.

Another busy day but we're off out tonight for a meal with friends which makes a welcome change.
