A quiet moment
In a busy day. I had another good long swim in the morning, followed by a chat with JDz by the pool. Good to catch up on her plans and to give feedback. Soon after 2pm the wedding convoy of cars was on the road to Lendava where the ceremony took place in the Cultural Centre, which is a rather funky building. Glorious hot sunshine. Whilst we were waiting for the photographs to be done, quite a few of the party indulged in an ice cream from a local cafe. It was a beautiful ceremony full of music and touching moments. I had my long lens on the camera, and although this photograph isn't necessarily the sharpest, I thought it nicely captured the intimacy between the now married couple.
Once back at the hotel, there was more music (including a Romani duo and unaccompanied choral singing of the highest quality) and all the usuals for a wedding. Too much food (much much too much food), too much drink, and lots of chat and some speeches. No dancing - we sort of ran out of time and energy. We staggered off to bed shortly after midnight.
