Merry Christmas (2 Years Down)

Happy Birthday Jesus.

Now that's over with time to get down to important stuff - 2 non consecutive years of blipping. Today is the day I get a little balloon for my troubles, and my subscribers get a notification telling them that I've done 730 blips. It's taken me more than two years, but that's more the fault of British Telecom who concentrate all their efforts on bringing fast broadband to the cities, but completely overlook the little hamlets stranded in the fields of Lincolnshire. If it wasn't the season of goodwill I'd call them B'stards. however it is, so I won't.

My blip today features something worth celebrating I think - my ladt Fe and her little terror of a pooch Tin Tin. You may (or may not) be aware that Fe and I met right here on blip, fell in love as we shared our interest in photography, and continue to share the same common passion. I think that this picture is more of a testament to my two years on blip as anything. When I arrived I was a poor photographer with an old compact camera and a whole host of issues ranging from shitty job to no woman (and all the bits inbetween). Now I have a great job, a fantastic woman and hopefully a little bit of skill behind the shutter. Blip has given me self confidence in my 'art' if it can be called that, and that confidence has inspired me to begin to fulfill the things I've always known I've been capable of.

Right that's the mushy crap out of the way. I doubt this will get read much anyway, the days of spotlights and 30 plus comments are long gone for me. It's a little sad that I can't get out of blip as much as I used to, because it is a place where you get out what you put in. I'm sadly only an occasional blipper and a rare comment-er (?) these days. I'd love to change that, but unless BT lay seven miles of fibre optic cable from the telephone exchange to my remote abode then it won't alter at all.

All that remains for me to say is have a great christmas of self indulgence, gift giving and receiving and whatever else it is you get up to. I'm hoping Fe has got the 'dragging the dog into a flooded lake' mood out of her system and we can settle down to some food, some drink and a little bit of christmas lovin'.

Peace and love y'all - here's to another 730 non consecutive blips.
