The meaning of Christmas
The meaning of Christmas has changed for me.
Buying stuff is not what Christmas is about; of course it is nice to treat your loved ones, but I can do that at any time of the year and it does not have to cost money, it can be by caring and listening or helping out when needed.
Shouldn't we have good will all the time and not only because it is Christmas?
I think that we have too much stuff - and the market is trying to invent new things and make us feel that we need them.
There was a clever campaign by a recycling company a couple of years ago; changing another company's slogan from:" It is so dumb to pay too much" to: "it is so dumb to always buy something new".
I have not been wishing everybody here a Merry Christmas. It is not that I would not appreciate you, but I just don't want to offer empty words.
Instead I wish you a Happy New Year and all the best for every day.
