pretty petal

the day started with unpacking stockings - father christmas dun good again - he always keeps it small and simple because he can't be bothered to think of yet more presents so just stuffs things in a sock.
This adventure was followed by a delicious breakfast of all the things one can think of to eat at breakfast...I had bagels and scrambled egg and grilled mushrooms and bacon and smoked salmon of various kinds and goat's cheese and to be honest at some point I gave up trying to remember or to look at what other people were eating....then we went out for a bike ride to give the dog his Christmas present - a run to the river to chase sticks with the whole family.
On the way home along the river bank we cycled past a deep and fast moving bit where some ducks were hiding....the dog likes ducks....and in he jumped. He now knows why we usually go to the shallow, slow moving bit to chase sticks. Mr. Spitzi and I hauled a very soggy and scared dog out of the river and then took him to stand in the sun to dry off and calm down a bit. We decided to just go home after that.....

The light here is always so soft at Christmas. If it wasn't for blipping, I wouldn't know that.
