Teenager

BB was up bright and early today – for today he became a teenager!  Help, we have a teenager in the house.  He was keen for us to get downstairs so he could open his presents.  The presents went down well, even the IOU!

It was raining, but the boys then went off to church and I didn't run as I had to make a birthday cake.  It turned out fine, even after a little disaster.  As I lifted the cake tin into the oven, I realised that the tin was leaking.  I reckoned that the leak would be sealed up once the cake started to cook.  Thankfully there wasn’t too much mess in the oven!  The boys returned, the weather brightened and we headed off down the A1 to meet up with Auntie E and Uncle J for a birthday lunch.  We met at Paxton House and had a lovely comfort food lunch in the café.  The gardens and woodland were looking lush and green.  We walked to the Union Chain Bridge, over the bridge and up to the Honey Farm.  After a look around, we found a table in the sun and enjoyed tea and cakes - which were fantastic.  The wind had really got up and walking back across the bridge I felt sea sick – it was moving so much.  I was glad to get back onto land.  We continued our walk back and through the Paxton woods.  All too soon we were saying our goodbyes and we headed home.  BB was thinking about homework and his next meal!

We had a quiet evening.  I asked BB if he had had a nice birthday, he said he had, but we had made him walk too far on his birthday!

Here he is with his new rugby ball.  The candelabra primula is at Paxton, and you can just make out TT and his sister going over the Union Chain Bridge.
