Signal Box
This morning we took a walk along the River Hull towpath to the Museum Quarter. This is a collection of three museums, Wilberforce House, East Yorkshire Museum and the Streetlife Museum.
We visited the Streetlife Museum, a fascinating insight into transport and life from Victorian to the1960s. Full of authentic shops, coaches, buses, cars and other motors. One of the exhibits is the actual signal box from the Cottingham North rail crossing, see extras. The main picture is the inside of the signal box, I've added an inset of my grandfather, a photo taken in 1952, of him at work in a box very similar to this one.
After lunch we visited my sister again before heading back home.
