Rievaulx Abbey

On our way home today. We had arranged to meet one of my retired teaching colleagues for lunch near Leeds, but first squeezed in a visit to this wonderful abbey at Rievaulx. The weather could have been better but we did get a little sun - as shown by the shadows of the abbey's arches - before the rain set in.

By the time we got to Leeds the rain had stopped but the weather was still poor so, after lunch, we thought we'd just head for home. If there had been something specific we wanted to see we would have continued our meanderings but found the M1 and set off. Now back in Bucks.
