Time

Everything in our front yard is burgeoning, including these columbine blossoms at various stages of their life cycle, cozily ensconced amid the branches of a deodor cedar that is quickly outgrowing its allotted space.

My life feels much the same right now, with a major Whatcom Chorale concert coming up on Sunday afternoon (Mozart's "Coronation" Mass and his Versperae Solennes de Confessore, and an engaging new work by a local composer, Ordinary Prayers). There will be a chamber orchestra for the Mozart works, and most of our dress rehearsal on Saturday will be focused on shifting from a single piano accompanying us to that larger ensemble.

I've been putting in a lot of time on these three works, and also working on music for our church choir, which rehearses at 8 a.m. on Sundays and performs at the 10 a.m. service. That's not too bad at this light-filled time of year, but challenging in the darker months.

I'm also preparing for a visit to my sister in Texas, leaving early next Tuesday, and have recently wrapped up plans for a couple of trips with Phil later in the year.

July and August should be less busy, and I hope to be more consistent in blipping and in commenting. I enjoy looking at your journals, even if I leave no trace of my visit!
