In Stone and Steel
A striking monument in city Den Haag that I like lots.
Just learned from internet that it's named "Thorbecke Monument" and created by Thom Puckey. The white part in the left with the man looking across his shoulder is created in marmor and portrays J.R. Thorbecke Thorbecke was the 19th century Dutch politician who drafted our constitution bill what was approved in 1848.
Marmor Thorbecke is created in 19th Century style and he looks over his shoulder onto our Houses of Parliament,
The administrative threesome on the right hand sight of this monument, is created in stainless steel and in present day style = 21st century... I really like this creative collusion of different era's.
