Dunstanburgh

Day one of our excursion along the Coasts and Castles Cycle Route from Tynemouth to Edinburgh and we set out in fine fettle: up through Whitley Bay - the sun, ahem, glinting off the Spanish City and Saturday morning parkrunners thronging the coastline - and on up the beautiful Northumbrian coast to Dunstan, stopping only to refuel with cake at Alnmouth. In fact, we were so full of energy still when we got to our B&B that we had a stroll down the hill to Craster to have a look at the Castle - a move we regretted only slightly when it came to trudging back up. Still, steak pie and chips awaited us...
