Black-Tailed Skimmer Dragonfly

Today the art group went to the National Art Exhibition which was being exhibited at Ellesmere College. There were some beautiful paintings and it was difficult to choose a favourite.

Afterwards I went for a walk by the canal as it was a fine day.  There were lots of damselflies around and this very handsome Black-Tailed Skimmer was basking in the sun.

There was plenty of birdsong too but difficult to actually spot them as they were hidden amongst the leaves.
