When Will met a Monk!
So today we played 'How many forms of transport can we go on?', but first we walked along to Wat Traimit, to see the solid gold Buddha. When we arrived there were many monks chanting on the dais. We knelt, respectfully and listened to them. When they finished all bar the leader got up and left. The leader beckoned us forward and asked Will to join him on the dais. He then had a conversation with Will about how would he like to stay and be a monk, where was he from and other small talk. He then put a bracelet on each of us and gave us a couple each to take away. We all felt very honoured. It was a very special thing for the kids, Will particularly, to experience.
Then we went on all manner of public transport, with the exception of the buses. We visited Lumpini Park, which was being set up for the Songkran Festival, various modern shopping centres and caught a boat back along a large part of the river. As a last day it was good, again to see the contrasts in this amazing city.
