A Christmas Tradition
My Father-in-Law made these two little guys in the last few years before he passed away. Every year we have set them out, but not necessarily in a place of honor. After all, they're just a couple of home-made decorations given to us unsolicited and rather plain.
But we like the wee crooked smiles, the jaunty hats, and the stick-man arms.
It's funny how things work themselves into becoming part of a tradition without ever really intending to. How just the repetition of a thing gives it meaning far beyond it's intrinsic value.
So.....after the Christmas season is over.....we'll carefully pack them away and maybe next year they'll move a little closer to the center of things....maybe.
