Turella Tramway Truck

We'd had a lovely Christmas lunch which is the traditional "big meal" of the day in Australia. Afterwards, we repaired to my brother's back yard where the Turella Tramway is located. We were wanting to play trains.

Anybody who has any kind of fascination for model railways should check out the link (above) and take a look at SOME of the dozens of locomotives and rolling stock, most of which my brother has constructed FROM SCRATCH. Pictured is a period "S" truck based on a pre-war prototype. The G gauge models are meticulously engineered in detail from individual pieces of timber and pressed metal. The only thing which isn't ENTIRELY true to life are the actual couplings which are a standardised design to facilitate the reliable marshalling of carriages and trucks from various sources and manufacturers. HERE is another of the pictures I shot, which shows a recently completed model of a 1950s national railways liveried diesel locomotive

Anyway it came on to rain and we couldn't run the system after all. I just had time to shoot a few of the models, one of which is illustrated. I hadn't done any high key / shallow dof mono style pictures in a while and so I ran the exposures at f1.8 and fired away.
