Slate beach
We continued to the SW to have a look at the Bridge Over The Atlantic but the channel was too shallow this morning. So we paddled round the W side of Siel to have lunch at Easdale. The sea was calm and the winds light but we knew the weather was on the change.
As we carried on down the Sound of Luing the skies clouded over, hill tops started to disappear and the wind swung round to the south, giving a tedious few km to our camp on the southern tip of Luing.
The rain started as we pitched tents and continued most of the night. The morning was grey and misty, time to turn north and return to the mainland. It rained most of the way back, and for most of our drive home, and all the next day. But we did see a sea eagle near the campsite, just sitting on a tussock. Visibility too poor to fly, presumably.
