Allium and Buff-tailed Bumblebee

I’ve spent several hours today clearing a patch of ground for my runner beans.  I needed to dig trenches and line them with newspaper and compost.  I was going to use the remaining home made compost in the bin but when I removed the lid I disturbed a small cohort of buff-tailed bumblebees so I thought one of them should feature in my allium photo today.  I’ll put the lid back on the bin when they’ve settled down this evening.  They’re all looking very large and healthy so I hope they succeed.

Hopefully I’ll manage to get the beans planted tomorrow.
