Hitching

For years I've wanted to get one of those pictures of a swan carrying cygnets under its wings and this is the closest I've got: one cygnet hitching a ride who popped its head up when Mum came to shore. This was at Petersfield Heath lake this evening and there are another two cygnets in the family group. Meanwhile there is no sign of the black swans, which is disappointing, or the great-crested grebes, for that matter, which is equally disappointing. Not sure where they've gone or why... I did find, however, what I believe is a reed warbler (see Extras). I've not knowingly seen one before and it was its beautiful song that drew it to my attention.
