Road To Durban
We took the bus from P.E. to Durban, through the Transkei (pictured). It took about 15 hours but the scenery was great. The Transkei was a different country from South Africa until the end of Apartheid and the place where Nelson Mandela was born. We went past his house that he built in his home town when he came to power. It is a replica of the cottage that he was kept under house arrest in for years at the end of his imprisonment. The flag was up, a sign that the revolutionary was home.
Travel Diary:
A long day. Woke up at 5.45 for 6.45 bus to Durban. It's a hop on/off but we went going straight through, which seems a shame but there aren't a lot of places that came recommended and with the weather uncertain a lot of the nice beach towns didn't seem so attractive.
